What is a vaginal microflora?
The microbiology of the vagina is a very complex ecosystem. For the majority of healthy women, this microflora is mainly dominated by healthy bacteria of the vagina (lactobacillus). We usually think of bacteria as something that causes diseases. However, your body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called “good” or “helpful” bacteria because they help keep your vagina healthy. These lactobacilli are essential to maintain vaginal health. Age, phase of the menstrual cycle, sexual activity, contraceptive choice, pregnancy, presence of foreign bodies, and use of hygienic products or antibiotics can disrupt this ecosystem.
When and how should you use MenoRelax® Gel?
First of all, stop using soap, lotions and perfumed products on the inner parts of your vagina, as these may worsen vaginal dryness. Use the applicator or your finger to apply MenoRelax® Gel (wash your hands before and after). You may experience a slight tingling sensation. This is completely normal and will quickly disappear. How often you need to use MenoRelax® Gel depends on the level of vaginal dryness. We recommend to use the gel every three days, or in case of severe dryness: apply every day. Allow an interval of 2 days after each consecutive treatment period of max 30 days.
Can I use MenoRelax® Symbio every day?
MenoRelax® Symbio should not be used for longer than 30 consecutive days, this allows the vaginal flora to regulate itself without support. In case of persistent or recurrent complaints you should always contact your physician.
How do I apply MenoRelax® Symbio?
MenoRelax® Symbio is applied intra-vaginally with the use of the applicator.
- Take the cap of the tube. Use the top of the cap to pierce the sealed tube, prior to initial use.
- Gently pull out the applicator piston approximately 2-3 cm. It will automatically stop at this point.
- Place the open end of the applicator over the opening of the tube. Softly squeeze the tube until the gel fills the applicator.
- Remove the tube from the applicator.
- Place one capsule, (thinner end first), into the opening of the applicator on top of the gel.
- Insert the applicator into the vagina until about half of the applicator is inserted and slowly press the piston to release the capsule and the gel.
- After use, dismantle the applicator piston fully by pulling apart and rinse both parts of the applicator with warm water.
The vagina is 7-8 cm long and corresponds approximately with the index finger of a woman. The length of the applicator is approximately 13 cm. Insert the applicator into the vagina until about half of the applicator.
How do I clean the applicator?
To clean the applicator dismantle the piston by pulling it apart. Rinse with hot water. Do not use soap. Let dry fully before assembling.
