  • What is menopause?

    Menopause is a natural condition that every woman experiences as she ages. The term “menopause” describes any of the changes a woman goes through either just before or after she stops menstruating.

    Menopausal transition starts several years before menopause and ends when the ovaries stop releasing eggs. It usually begins in a woman’s 40s, but can be even earlier. At this stage, many women start having menopause symptoms, which are often not recognized as such due to lifestyle. Most women don’t get enough information about menopause unless they start to have symptoms.

    Menopause symptoms may have a big impact on a woman’s wellbeing. Duration and severity of symptoms varies from woman to woman. They may include:

    • hot flashes
    • night sweats
    • difficulty sleeping
    • irritability and mood changes
    • joint stiffness, aches and pains
    • problems with concentration and memory
    • irregular periods
    • lower sex drive
    • vaginal dryness

    70% of women remain untreated because of unsatisfying treatments.

  • Why do I have vaginal complaints during menopause?

    Oestrogen, a hormone, helps keep the vaginal lining lubricated, thick and elastic. However, during menopause oestrogen production slows and ultimately stops. As a result, over 60 percent of women will experience vaginal dryness. This can result in complaints such as itching, burning, painful intercourse, difficulty exercising, discharge, odour et cetera.

  • What is MenoRelax® Gel?

  • What are the ingredients of MenoRelax® Gel?

    MenoRelax® Gel consists of a gel.

    One tube of MenoRelax® Gel contains 30ml of a non-scented gel, without any preservatives, hormones, silicones or ingredients of animal origin. Its functional ingredients are hyaluronic acid, glycerin, betaine, xanthan gum and pullulan. These are gentle for your vaginal mucosa. MenoRelax® Gel is water-soluble, non-greasy and does not leave stains.

  • What you should know before using MenoRelax® Gel?

    MenoRelax® Gel has no known side effects and is suitable to use with medication. Allergic reactions to any of the ingredients are rare. When in doubt, apply some gel to the inside of your forearm and leave for some time. When an itching red spot appears we advise you not to use MenoRelax® Gel.

  • When and how should you use MenoRelax® Gel?

    First of all, stop using soap, lotions and perfumed products on the inner parts of your vagina, as these may worsen vaginal dryness. Use the applicator or your finger to apply MenoRelax® Gel (wash your hands before and after). You may experience a slight tingling sensation. This is completely normal and will quickly disappear. How often you need to use MenoRelax® Gel depends on the level of vaginal dryness. We recommend to use the gel every three days, or in case of severe dryness: apply every day. Allow an interval of 2 days after each consecutive treatment period of max 30 days.

  • Does MenoRelax® Gel contain Hormones?

    MenoRelax® Gel does not contain preservatives, hormones, silicones or ingredients of animal origin. It is non-scented, water soluble and non-staining.

  • Can I use MenoRelax® Gel every day?

    MenoRelax® Gel should not be used for longer than 30 consecutive days, this allows the vaginal flora to regulate itself without support. In case of persistent or recurrent complaints you should always contact your physician.

  • How do I clean the applicator?

    To clean the applicator dismantle the piston by pulling it apart. Rinse with hot water. Do not use soap. Let dry fully before assembling.

  • Can I use MenoRelax® Gel when using medication?

    MenoRelax® Gel is not known to interfere with other medication.

  • Can I use MenoRelax® Gel when pregnant or breastfeeding?

    There are no known contraindications for the use of MenoRelax® Gel during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

  • I feel a stinging warming sensation after using MenoRelax® Gel. Is this normal?

    Yes. Some women may experience a warming or stinging sensation after vaginal application, especially when the vaginal tissue is irritated. This sensation is normal and will quickly disappear. If this sensation persists (which is seldom) we recommend you contact your physician.

  • I find residue in my underwear after using MenoRelax® Gel. Is this normal?

    Yes. In some cases you might notice that there are some residues from the product in your underwear the next morning. This is completely normal.

  • How do I know if am allergic to MenoRelax® Gel?

    Allergies to the ingredients of MenoRelax® Gel are very rare. If you have any doubt, apply a little bit of gel on the inside of the forearm. When an itchy red spot appears we advise to not use MenoRelax® Gel.
